Carolina Asthma and Allergy Center. P.A. (CAAC) is a specialty practice anchored by 13 Allergists, board-certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and a Physician’s Assistant. 

Our mission is to provide the highest standard of compassionate and cost effective care for all individuals with allergy, asthma and related diseases.  Toward this end we will perform state-of-the-art care to improve the quality of life for our patients in the Carolinas.

Dedicated to the highest standards of quality care, CAAC serves adults and children from over 50 counties in North Carolina and 10 counties in South Carolina.  To insure the level of individual attention and care our patients have come to expect and deserve, CAAC maintains 8 offices strategically placed throughout the greater Charlotte community.

Our vision is simple – to deliver personalized patient focused state-of-the-art allergy and asthma care, conduct related clinical research, and educate the medical and general community.

CAAC is proud to announce that four of our physicians have been named "Top Doctors" by their peers. Charlotte Magazine surveyed physicians in the Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Gaston and Union county areas by asking "which physician would you call if your loved one needed medical care?" Of the six physicians selected in the field of Asthma, Allergy & Immunology, four are from CAAC. They are: Doctors Richard Collins III, John Klimas, Maeve O'Connor, and J. Gray Norris. Congratulations!!!

CAAC WELCOMES DR. SUSAN HUNGNESS!!! A recent graduate of the Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Program at the University of Michigan, Dr. Hungess received her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and her Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Board Certified in Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Hungness is currently accepting new patients.

CAAC WELCOMES DR. ROOPEN PATEL!!! Dr. Patel is a recent graduate of the Northwestern Memorial Hospital Allergy and Immunology Fellowship in Chicago, Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree from Kent State University and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. Dr. Patel is board certified in Internal Medicine and Allergy and Immunology. He is currently accepting new patients.
